IKA DROP
Slide the whirlpools and drop squids of the same color — plop!
Free · No sign-up · Play in your browser
IKA DROP is a puzzle where you drag whirlpools around the board to drop squids of the matching color. Whirlpools can't pass through squids of other colors, rocks or other whirlpools, so it all comes down to which one you move and in what order. There's no timer, so you can think at your own pace.
Solve Hard stage 1,000 and your IQ tops 200!
How to play
- Put your finger on a whirlpool and drag it onto a squid of the same color. The squid drops right in!
- The number on a whirlpool shows how many more squids it can take. Once it's used up, the whirlpool disappears.
- Whirlpools can't pass through squids of other colors, rocks or other whirlpools. If a squid is in the way, drop that one first.
- You can also tap a whirlpool to select it, then tap where you want it to go. On a computer, move it with the arrow keys and switch whirlpools with the space bar.
- Drop every squid to clear the stage! When you're stuck, use Undo to take back a move, or ask for a hint.
Features
- Three modes — Easy, Normal and Hard — with 1,000 stages each. Clear 100 stages of one mode to unlock the next.
- Every 10th stage is a bonus stage, and every 50th is a boss stage packed with every gimmick you've met so far. After each boss, the undersea scenery changes.
- Lots of gimmicks: Frozen Squids whose ice counter drops each time a squid next to them falls, Currents you can only enter and leave in the arrow's direction, Coral Gates that only let whirlpools of the same color through, and Double Whirlpools that switch to their inner color once the outer one is used up.
- In Normal mode, a Helper Meteor sometimes falls and drops a squid from a tricky spot for you. Hard mode has big boards and no meteors — a serious challenge!
- If the board reaches a state where not every squid can be dropped, the game lets you know so you can undo a move and rethink.
Tips
- Whirlpools block each other too. Look over the whole board and work out which one to move first to open up paths.
- If a squid of another color is blocking the way, drop it first — then you won't need to take the long way around.
- Compare each whirlpool's number with how many squids of its color there are. For whirlpools with low numbers, grab the nearby squids first so nothing is wasted.
- Frozen Squids thaw faster when you drop squids next to them. The order you drop squids in changes which paths open up.
Who it’s for
Great for players who enjoy relaxed, thoughtful puzzles and like a game that keeps introducing new twists over time. The little plop of each squid dropping is oddly addictive.
